Tac's Rest is a 'small charity' and it's purpose is to provide free week stays to families who may have been through tough times, together with fund raising to cover the year on year running costs. Accounts are held with the Treasurer SJ Bloomfield and provided by an independent Barclays PLC account. Secretary for the charity is David Horne and Chair is Neil Smith MBE.

Any monies raised that exceeds the amount a 'small charity' can raise, to be donated to Cancer Research UK and East Anglian Children's Hospice (Ipswich) in Tony's memory.

The holiday home is dedicated to Tony 'Tac' Spry. Tony was an original member of Bobby on a Bike cycling Canada to Mexico in 2002 and again in 2005. Together with Neil Smith MBE and Jeff Cribb, Tony helped raise over £32,000 from those first two rides. Despite retiring his bike in 2005, Tony remained a committed member of Bobby on a Bike.

Sadly Tony lost his battle with cancer in October 2014, the holiday home is a tribute to his memory, hence known as 'Tac's Rest'.

"Tony's memory will live on in all we do for and with Tac's Rest...

Thanks for the support that’s made it all possible!"

March 2015 – We were lucky enough to be offered an ideal caravan and have Lorraine at Brynrodyn to thank for that. Three 12 hour days, three people, cleaning, scrubbing and deck painting and the caravan is prepared..

March 2015 – The caravan was fully equipped, with everything brand new, donated by the great supporters from Bobby on a Bike.

May 2015 - The Riders and supporters of the 8th Bobby on a Bike May Ride raised sufficient funds to completely purchase Tac's Rest. The Grand Opening took place at the end of the ride, with Tony's wife and family present.

March 2015 - The start of the 2016 season and our first year providing free week stays. We also provide £100 to spend in the on-site restaurant, The View. Guests will also find a 'welcome pack' with lots of goodies on arrival.
